Tattoos are difficult to surprise anyone with these days. Many people get beautiful patterns and inscriptions. But there are also those who have the logo or name of a well-known brand on a prominent place on their body. But what do people do it for: love for a company or good publicity? It turns out that there are several reasons for doing it.
It all started 10 years ago when a Pole put up his back as a banner. He divided it into several squares and in each of them he gave space for the name of a brand or a slogan. However, the idea was then doomed to failure. Only a few spots were bought. But the man got fame, as he started to be called on television.
The idea itself resonated with the public and many began to offer their bodies for promotional tattoos. And in the same 2012, the company Gino Rossi announced a promotion. They were offered to have the company logo tattooed on their bodies for 5 thousand zlotys. A total of 84 people took part in this action.
Not only money can be a motivator. Some time ago, the company “Dominos Pizza” launched a campaign. Each participant who made a tattoo with the company logo was entitled to a certificate for 100 free pizzas a year for 100 years. But it was not without its punctures. As it turned out in the process, the award was due only to the first 350 lucky ones. The rest either had time to cancel the tattoo, or got it for nothing.
Some people get so attached to a certain brand or product that they want to perpetuate the memory of it on their body. And they don’t do it for the money, they do it for nothing. For example, employees of an auto service station got tattoos with their company logo.
As one of the participants of this venture told, there was a dispute at the corporate party about who loves his job more. In the end, five employees got tattoos with their company logo. Moreover, everyone came to this voluntarily and there were no aims to become famous or get money for it. However, journalists eventually saw the tattoos and invited young people for interviews.
In fact, this is often the case. Some people get a lot of tattoos on their body, and the logo of some brand comes in handy. There is nothing to be surprised about. There are tattoo enthusiasts who have a few dozen images on their bodies. And they do not have to apply another one, associated with a particular brand.
And if we talk about pizza, we can remember 2017, when Dodo Pizza pizzeria in Togliatti announced a promotion. It offered anyone who inked a tattoo with the company’s logo a lifetime discount of 15%.
In this case it is very complicated and depends on several factors. Of all those who have already done so, there are those who regret their action and those who are left with the opinion that everything turned out interesting and fun. However, what is certain is that in Russia, companies are not prepared to pay serious money for advertising in the form of tattoos.
